Who are we
Founded in 2020, we are the fastest growing Eating Disorder community specialising in ARFID.
Young Adults with ARFID is the fastest-growing community for individuals with Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), providing support, understanding and resources for those struggling with extreme food aversions.

ARFID is not driven by body image concerns but rather by sensory sensitivities, lack of interest in food, or fear of negative consequences like choking.

Our mission
Embracing challenges and celebrating progress
Our community is dedicated to embracing challenges and celebrating progress, helping individuals navigate their journey with ARFID while fostering a sense of belonging and personal achievement.

Eating disorders do not have a bias and can start at any age. Our community welcomes everyone and supports people from all around the world reaching as far as Australia, The Netherlands, UK and USA.

We provide free resources and services with no restriction on use. We even signpost our members to other resources for other similar disorders.
What we offer
Young Adults with ARFID changes lives. All for free.
Young Adults with ARFID was founded by a full time educator diagnosed with ARFID. His intention was to educate the world about ARFID and to provide support and resources to those with the disorder. Since launch, this has changed dramatically but here's just a flavour of what we offer;

-
Weekly calls via Google Meet
-
A fully stocked resource hub with self-help resources and signposting to other sites
-
Educational Courses

and there's so much more to come.
What people are saying
"Without Young Adults with ARFID, I do not know where I would be"
Speaks volumes doesn't it. Where medical costs are at an all time sky high, accessing free support like this can be life-changing.

People have used our services to then move on to meeting other members face to face, start happy and healthy relationships with foods and explore positive social options as well as to have a space to share their successes and talk about their struggles in a loving and supportive environment.

Our Founders Message
This was my dream. It's now a reality.
Picture this. You've just been diagnosed with ARFID, a life-changing diagnosis for an eating disorder. However it's so new, that nobody has ever really heard of it. That was me when I was first diagnosed on Christmas Eve of 2016. My life changed forever - finally I could put a label to my eating disorder. At the end of university, I wanted to give people that same feeling but build a sense of community where people can come together and talk about everything ARFID.

That's where we are now. Young Adults with ARFID has changed so many lives and as it nearly approaches it's fifth birthday, more and more people find us... and we could not be more excited about that.

Whatever stage of your journey - remember this. Conquering ARFID is a big task so "Start wherever you are and start small" (Rita Bailey). Sometimes the beginning is the most important part and you can feel lost in that moment of not knowing where to start or what your next steps will be. Just know that we will be here as your community through your journey ready to help whenever you need us.
